APPROACH TO THE ROUTE DESCRIPTION

From the base camp at "Vypusknikov" lake, ascend to the Northwest ridge of Sredniy Zub peak. The route begins here, proceeding left along the ridge. The approach from the base camp takes 0.5 hours.

TRAVERSE ROUTE DESCRIPTION SREDNIY ZUB — KhVI, 1B CATEGORY OF DIFFICULTY.

Section R0–R1: The route begins on the straightforward, snow-covered Northwest ridge of Sredniy Zub peak. Follow the ridge to the summit.

Section R1–R2: Descend from Sredniy Zub peak eastward along a narrow, snow-covered ridge of moderate complexity to the saddle between Sredniy Zub and KhVI peaks. Steep firn slopes are on the right, and rocky drops with cornices are on the left! Simultaneous protection.

Section R2–R3: From the saddle, proceed along a straightforward rocky ridge to KhVI peak. Simultaneous protection.

Descent is via the ascent route.
