SummitX Culture Manifesto
SummitX is a community of people who share a passion for mountains, responsibility, personal experience, and honest knowledge exchange. We strive to create a calm, respectful, and engaging environment where you can discuss routes, safety, technique, people, and meaningful topics without unnecessary noise.
1. Core Principles
-
Respect is the foundation of communication. We discuss ideas and experiences, not judge participants.
-
Calm tone. Write in a way that makes the other person comfortable continuing the conversation.
-
Equality of experience. Beginners and experienced climbers have equal rights to ask questions, give advice, and share opinions.
-
Honesty and clarity. If you can — share your experience; if you're unsure — ask for clarification.
2. What We Encourage
- Helpful, accurate answers.
- Personal stories that provide context.
- Reasonable debates without trying to "win."
- Kind corrections of mistakes.
- Willingness to help when you know the solution.
- Genuine interest in others' experiences.
3. What We Discourage
- Harshness, sarcasm, aggression.
- Superiority, dismissiveness, condescending tone.
- Fanaticism and absolutism (technical, ideological, or "spiritual").
- Trolling and provocations.
- Veering into topics that provoke conflicts (politics, religious disputes).
If a member systematically disrupts the atmosphere, moderators will intervene.
4. How to Communicate Effectively
- Write to the point, but not dryly.
- Explain your position briefly and clearly.
- If you criticize — do so respectfully and offer alternatives.
- If a question is unclear — ask for clarification rather than assume.
- Don't be afraid to say "I don't know" — that's normal.
5. Moderation
Moderation at SummitX is about maintaining a calm, productive atmosphere. We don't restrict opinions as long as a respectful tone is maintained. If a conflict arises, moderators help resolve it properly or steer it in a constructive direction.
6. For New Members
- Write a few words about yourself — it helps start conversations.
- Don't hesitate to ask questions: everyone has their own path in the mountains.
- If you'd like — share a brief story or experience — it helps you feel the community's atmosphere.
7. Summary
SummitX is a space where calm dialogue, experience, responsibility, and respect for people are valued. If you want to discuss mountains honestly, without harshness and excessive formality, you'll feel right at home here.
