Section R3–R4. Sharp ridge 10 m. Section R4–R5. 2nd gendarme 100 m, 40°. Section R5–R6. 3rd gendarme is bypassed on the left from below, 200 m. Section R6–R7. Ridge 25° with two walls 5 m each, total length 100 m.

Section R7–R8. Big distinct gendarme is bypassed on the right via a ledge to the first couloir. Up the couloir 30 m and up the left wall 30 m. Entry to the ridge.

Section R8–R9. 5th gendarme is bypassed on the right via a ledge, descent by climbing to the saddle. Total length 100 m.

Section R9–R10. Sharp ridge 50 m, mostly bypassed on the left.

Section R10–R11. Flat ridge 50 m.

Section R11–R12: 200 m, 40° to the pre-summit shoulder.

Section R12–R13: 200 m, 45° from the shoulder to the summit.

Descent via the South-Western ridge, cat. 1 difficulty, to Studen­t pass.

VII. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE APPROACH

From the base camp at Ak-Kem lake to the mouth of Ak-Oyuk river and further along the trail along the canyon of this river to the exit to the gentle valley.

Crossing:

  • across Ak-Oyuk river to the right (orographic) bank
  • along the main slope to the beginning of the Northern ridge of Br­onya peak

The route starts at an altitude of 2400 m.
