Explanations for the table of main characteristics of the ascent route
R0–R1 — The route begins with overcoming a bergschrund. Bergschrund — a crevasse of varying width. To the left of the ascent path, the crevasse widens. So it's best to overcome it in this place. The height difference between the edges of the crevasse is about 2 m. The width of the crevasse at the point of crossing is about 80 cm. The upper edge of the crevasse is entirely ice.
R1–R2 — After overcoming the bergschrund, an ice slope begins, 80 m at a steepness of 40°, which leads to a saddle. The ice is not flow ice, crampons hold well.
R2–R3 — From the saddle, we continue the ascent along the ridge. The ridge is 40 m long — 30° ice. The ice is the same as on the slope. Along the slope, we approach a small rock slab: 1.5 m, 70°. The rocks are covered with flow ice about 3–5 cm thick.
R3–R4 — After overcoming the slab, a snowy slope begins at 40°. On the left side of the ascent path, small cornices overhang up to 2 m. The snowy slope leads to the summit of p. Izyiskatel'.
