2. Characteristics of the Route

img-2.jpeg

To access the route, one must ascend along the Ulan-Gol river to the NW ridge of Altyn-Mundarga peak and bypass it. The ascent to section R0 is done via scree from the right side of the ridge to the left side of the "sharp" gendarme.

img-3.jpeg

Then, proceed in rope teams along the ridge with simultaneous movement and terrain protection. Move along the ridge to section R1, then continue on the right side of the ridge. Climbing difficulty category 2.

img-4.jpeg

After two "false" pre-summit ascents, reach the ridge and continue movement until the gendarme. Then, descend slightly and bypass the gendarme on the right.

img-5.jpeg

Next, there is a 150 m section of 3rd category difficulty. Belay stations are on large rocks. The key section of the route is near the "arch". One must pass to the right of the inclined slab via a small internal corner.

img-6.jpeg

After the key section, descend to the left part of the ridge and continue ascent on the left part for about 50 m. Then, return to the ridge and proceed to the summit. The summit is marked by vertically standing boards and has a control cairn with a note.

img-7.jpeg

Descent from the summit towards Ulan-Gol peak is via scree. There is no control cairn on Perm peak, but there is one on Ulan-Gol peak.

img-8.jpeg

Descent from Ulan-Gol peak is along an inclined scree slope to the left in the direction of descent.
