Description of the ascent route to Porter Peak (2515 m) via the South ridge, category 1B difficulty.
The route starts from the pass between Kharimta and Arkhut gorges.
R0–1 70 m, 40° 1+. To the right of the ridge along broken rocks to the first pillar.
R1–2 15 m, 1+. Descent along the sharp ridge 10° to the saddle.
R2–3 25 m, 10° 2–. Sharp ridge. First 10 meters — very sharp.
R3–4 30 m, 45° 2–. Broken rocks. Ascent to the second pillar.
R4–5 15 m, 45° 2–. Sport descent to the saddle.
R5–6 10 m, 30° 1–. Grassy ridge.
R6–7 40 m, 45° 2+. Key to the route: to the right of the ridge along broken rocks to the third pillar.
R7–8 7 m, 30° 1+. Descent along the grassy ridge.
R8–9 15 m, 35°. Rocks.
R9–10 60 m, 5° 1–. Grassy ridge with three stone hills.
R10–11 80 m, 35° 1+. First to the right, then to the left of the ridge — ascent to the fourth pillar.
R11–12 5 m, 30° 1–. Descent.
R12–13 120 m, 15° 1–. Scree ridge. Ascent to the summit.
Descent to R8 and then Southwest along the scree slope into Kharimta gorge.
