Route description for the ascent to Krylya Sovetov peak 3341 m via the North ridge, rated 2A cat. dif.
The approach to Krylya Sovetov peak starts along the trail to Munku Sardyk. In the middle part of the ascent to the second terrace to Lake Ekho, you need to turn left onto a lateral terrace and move almost in the opposite direction towards Moguvek pass. The North ridge of Krylya Sovetov starts from the pass. The route begins slightly to the right of the ascent to the pass. Sec. R0–R1 300 m. 30° 1–. Wide couloir. Exit to the ridge to the right and above the pass. Sec. R1–R2 200 m. 30° 1+. Rocky snow-covered ridge. Sec. R2–R3 80 m. 45° 2–. Couloir with a plug. Rocks! Sec. R3–R4 80 m. 45° 1+. Firn slope. Sec. R4–R5 10 m. 60° 2+. Damaged wall. Sec. R5–R6 50 m. 45° 2–. Summit ridge. Ascent to Krylya Sovetov peak. Descent — to the right to a saddle and down a snowy couloir to the north.
