About

The Alamedin region is a relatively infrequently visited mountainous area of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too range, located to the east of Bishkek. Unlike Ala-Archa, it is not considered a popular or "transit" destination and is predominantly used by experienced groups focused on autonomous ascents and lesser-known routes. The area is of interest primarily to those seeking secluded lines and challenging rock terrain outside of crowded valleys.

Elevations in the area reach 4700 m, with the majority of routes falling within the 3800–4500 m range. The most technically dense part of the area is the Salyk gorge, where steep granite walls, towers, and buttresses are concentrated in a compact area. It is Salyk that forms the "climbing core" of the region and attracts teams working on challenging technical routes.
