Mshatka-Kaya — 21

Centre of the eastern bastion, 5a

From the upper road, ascend simple rock to the right part of an overgrown shrubby inclined terrace located under the eastern part of the wall. The route starts 20 m east of the beginning of the right "side" of the Triangle (R0: 300 m, 30–50, easy — I).

On the R1–R2 section:

• from a narrow inclined ledge on the left side of a small, not clearly defined counterfort to a pine tree
• then up steep walls to a tree

(R1–R2: 40 m, 70°, III).

Then up through the centre of the bastion. The landmark is a 20-meter internal corner with a tree at its upper part. On the R2–R3 section — first along a short slab to the right, and then up difficult slabs, walls, and corners. The internal corner at the top overhangs. The belay point is in a small grotto (R2–R3: 40 m, 75°, IV).

On the R3–R4 section — up steep slabs and after 20 m, move right to a ledge (R3–R4: 20 m, 80°, V; 15 m, 70°, IV).

On the R4–R5 section — first traverse left along an inclined ledge to a tree, and then up complex rock. At the top, there is an overhanging 10-meter chimney (R4–R5: 40 m, 70°, III; 10 m, 90°, V).

On the final section of the route — first up and left through the left part of a wide internal corner, and then straight up to reach the summit (R5-summit: 60 m, 60–70°, III)

The ascent takes 4–5 hours. The length of the main part of the route is about 230 m.
