A group of Moscow veteran climbers from the Committee in memory of Marshal of the Soviet Union G.K. Zhukov, led by committee member, Master of Sports of the USSR V.A. Vlasov, completed a first ascent of an unnamed 3902 m peak in the Sailugem Ridge of the Altai Mountains.
The group reached the summit via the north-eastern snow-ice edge under challenging weather conditions.
At the summit, they installed:
- a memorial sign made of stainless steel in the shape of a shield;
- a pennant bearing the names of the organizers of the ascent.
The ascent was dedicated to the 850th anniversary of Moscow.
It is proposed to name the conquered peak "Peak of the Hero Cities."
