Technical equipment used — ice screws, crampons, ice axes. Climbing hours — 8–9 hours from the bivouac.

Approach.

From the base camp located near the 1st lake on the Karakabak River, move along the left orographic bank, bypassing the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lakes to the moraine ridge.

• Ascend the moraine ridge
• Along the river, approach the glacier tongue
• On the glacier, approach the north ridge of v. Geodezicheskaya

The approach to the start of the route takes 2.5–3 hours.

Route.

Ascend the northern ridge via scree slopes. Then, along the northern ridge, approach the 1st gendarme. The ascent to it goes through an internal corner (about 15 m) and a rock wall (about 15 m). Climbing is of medium difficulty, movement is alternating, protection is through protrusions, loose rocks! Then, the rocky ridge leads to the 2nd gendarme. The ascent goes through a system of internal corners, gullies, and walls — a total of about 40 m. Climbing is of medium difficulty, protection is through protrusions, loose rocks! After the 2nd gendarme, ascend to the right upwards on the ice slope to the depression of the western ridge between v. Geodezicheskaya and v. 3500 m. Characteristics of the section:

• Distance: about 180 m
• Steepness: 35°
• Movement: alternating
• Protection: through ice screws!

Then, along a simple ridge, ascend to the summit, about 150 m, snow cornices to the south! From the start of the route to the summit — 5.5–6 hours.

Descent is via the ascent route. From the summit to the glacier tongue — 4–5 hours.

Equipment recommended for a group of 4 people:

1. Main rope — 2 × 40 m.
2. Crampons — 4 pairs.
3. Ice axes — 4 pcs.
4. Ice screws — 8 pcs.
5. Carabiners — 8 pcs.
6. Personal equipment — 4 sets.
