Description de l'itinéraire

Départ du CB (emplacement "Ratsek") pour la préparation le 24.02.2013 à 11:00. Retour au CB le 24.02.2013 à 15:00. Départ du CB pour la préparation le 25.02.2013 à 8:00. Retour au CB le 25.02.2013 à 19:00. Départ pour l'itinéraire le 27.02.2013 à 5:00. Sortie de la paroi pour la crête le 28.02.2013 à 1:00. Arrivée au sommet le 28.02.2013 à 2:00. Descente au CB le 28.02.2013 à 5:00

Approche par la partie inférieure du glacier Ak-Sai, sous la paroi nord du p. Box, en passant par le m-t Mikhailovsky 5B catégorie de difficulté jusqu'à R0–R1.

R0–R1. On se déplace à travers une paroi peu pentue jusqu'à une grande cheminée. 50°, 30 m, III.
R1–R2. Déplacement dans la cheminée. Les rochers sont raides, mais tout se passe en escalade. 75–80°, 40 m, IV/
R2–R3. Dans la partie supérieure de la cheminée, il y a un bouchon, donc on passe sur la paroi droite. On s'installe sur des PAI. 90°, 10 m, VI (A2).
R3–R4. Depuis la paroi, on sort dans un couloir enneigé. 40°, 20 m, II.
R4–R5. Le couloir se termine par un mur raide. On sort par la partie gauche. 90°, 15 m, VI (A1).
R5–R6. Depuis le mur, on sort sur les "têtes de mouton". 45°, 35 m, III.
R6–R7. On monte le long du couloir enneigé et on sort sur un mur du côté gauche du couloir. 40°, 15 m, III.
R7–R8. On sort sur les "têtes de mouton" par des vires rocheuses et on arrive jusqu'au mur. 45°, 35 m, III.
R8–R9. On se déplace sur une vire enneigée oblique vers la droite. 15°, 7 m, II.
R9–R10. Mur raide. On grimpe en escalade. 80–85°, 15 m, IV.
R11–R12. PAI le long d'une petite cheminée. On utilise des ancres, des coinceurs, des cales. 70–75°, 50 m, V (A1).
R12–R13. La cheminée se rétrécit et devient plus raide. 80°, 20 m, V+ (A1).
R13–R14. Passage clé de l'itinéraire. Fissure étroite dans des dalles. Seuls les ancres et les petits pitons sont efficaces. 85–90°, 45 m, VI (A2).
R14–R15. On sort sur une vire inclinée puis dans une grande cheminée gauche qui se termine par un système de parois. 70–75°, 50 m, V (A1).
R15–R16. On monte le long d'une fissure jusqu'à un surplomb. 80°, 30 m, VI (A1).
R16–R17. Surplomb. 120°, 5 m, VI (A2).
R17–R18. On monte le long d'une fissure jusqu'à un couloir de glace. 70°, 60 m, V (A1).
R18–R19. On sort sur une raide coulée de glace, qui devient parfois mixte. 60–65°, 100 m, V.
R19–R20. La coulée de glace s'adoucit et s'élargit. On monte le long de la glace jusqu'à la crête. En sortie, il faut être très prudent — il y a beaucoup de blocs de pierre instables ! 50–55°, 100 m, IV.
R20–R21. Sur la crête, on enlève tout l'équipement. On continue jusqu'au passage de descente, on laisse les sacs à dos ici et on va au sommet.

Descente par la catégorie de difficulté 1B.
